The Actors Salon of Washington D.C. presents readings of rarely produced American classics in an event setting.

We believe the fun and informality of event spaces, as opposed to a darkened theatre, allow the words of the play and the work of the actors to return to the forefront. The Actors Salon is committed to re-invigorating neglected American plays that allow us to look at our present world through the lens of our past.

Our salons offer an exciting  theatrical experience to the audience: following the reading, The Actors Salon hosts a party, where the audience and the artists mingle to discuss the work that we have all just shared. Theatre is, by its nature, ephemeral and fleeting, and creating a celebration around the work of the theatre allows the audience to become a more active participant in its magic.

The Actors Salon believes by re-introducing audiences to these neglected plays we can once again discover the power and uniqueness of the American Theatrical Voice.
